Quell Pain Relief Review

quell relief app

Quell uses revolutionary technology to relieve chronic pain at the click of a button. The product is great for people that suffer from conditions such as sciatica, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, but also athletes that may have gained a knee injury or sprain. The wearable band fits around the calf, is 100% drug free and FDA approved for the over-the-counter consumer market.

By stimulating your nerves and blocking pain signals in your body the Quell gives pain relief in as little as 15minutes and promises 40 hours of pain relief on a single charge.

The overall design of the Quell is lightweight, comfortable and thin enough to wear under clothes making the band discreet enough to wear all day, wherever you are, depending on the amount of chronic pain you are experiencing.

Quell Relief strap

We all know what it’s like to have muscle pain whilst you’re trying to sleep but Quell can be used 24 hours a day. Again the comfortable design of the band makes it hard to even notice you’re wearing a piece of technology. A unique feature of the Quell is that it can automatically track quality of sleep and then adjust itself so you are getting the right amount of pain relief to ensure you sleep right through the night.

Quell also includes an accelerometer that provides sleep data through an iOS app. The app also tracks therapy sessions and battery life. At the moment the app isn’t as advanced as we’d hoped but more insightful features will likely be added in the future.

The Quell comes in at $250 and after the initial investment, electrode strips will need to be purchased monthly at $30 which you can find here. With a new product on the market that is a large sum of money you may think that you are taking a risk but don’t worry, Quell offers a 60-day money back guarantee if you are not completely satisified with your product, but from the research we’ve seen we highly doubt that’ll you’d need it.

PROS:
  • Pain relief 24 hours a day without any use of drugs
  • Comfortable, lightweight design so can be worn for as long as needed without any discomfort
  • Easily track’s reports via iOS app

CONS:
  • Will need to purchase electrode strips monthly at the cost of $30

The Quell device has been a lifesaver for me. Any relief from the years of constant pain is quite welcome. I love how easy-to-use the system is and that you don't have to use an app to make it work - just strap it on, turn it on once, and you're done until the battery charge runs out days later. I'm a chronic insomniac for years and I have noticed that what little sleep I get is deeper and more restful when I wear the Quell. On the downside, the device is not covered by insurance and even more importantly, the electrodes are not covered and are marketed with a two-week lifespan before they need replacing. A month's supply is $30 (2 electrodes) and that adds up fast. I've been keeping my old strips and moving the gel around to make the electrodes last for 8 weeks each which really helps with the cost, especially when I live on a fixed income. Also my leg strap is stretching out to the point where I'll have to modify it to make it keep working as I can't afford another one ($30). My battery is splitting between the layers, but I'm hoping that is covered by the warranty. All in all, the Quell device is great and distracts me from the constant pain so that I can spend some meaningful time with my kids and pets and it helps me sleep better than before.
+ PROS: It works! Comfortable to wear with long battery life Easy to use Fits under most of my clothes No allergy to conductive gel with long-term use (unusual for me) Can switch between legs Don't need app to use device FDA approved
    - CONS: Electrodes are expensive and should be replaced every two weeks Not covered by insurance No Android app Leg band stretches out in a couple of months and then is too big Battery is beginning to split apart Expensive to purchase and maintain
